Sunday morning sessions for all skill levels — from first-time skaters to experienced players looking to sharpen their game.
This session is for beginner skaters and players who would like to work on skating fundamentals. These sessions will take players who cannot stand up and teach them techniques and fundamentals of skating. Watch as your confidence grows and you are able to stand with balance, move your feet, turn, slow down, stop and even move backwards.
This is focused on Hockey and all participants need to be dressed for hockey.
This session is for beginner hockey players and players that would like to work on fundamentals. The focus will be introduction to the puck, stick, combining these with skating and basic hockey systems.
Fundamentals on how to hold a stick, move the stick to handle the puck, pass and receive passes, shooting technique, skating with a puck, positions on the rink and simple hockey strategy and plays.
Designed to build off of the fundamentals taught in the Learn to Skate and Learn to Hockey programs. This program will work on both skating, hockey skill and dive much deeper into hockey systems and theory. The pace of drills will be faster and more complex to simulate more game situations.
GOALIES are allowed at all practices and highly encouraged!
3 separate Drop-In games per week segregated by skill level. Open to ages 15+ — players must be an EHA member to participate.
For the highest skilled players. These games will be fast moving with hard passes and hard shots. If you are a B or C League level player who wants to try, be aware the game will not slow down for you.
Level of Play: High-paced game with crisp passes, hard shots and high levels of fun creativity.
For mid-level skilled players. Slower paced than A League. C League players may play up. A League players are allowed but must adjust to the pace — if unable, they will be asked to remove themselves.
Level of Play: Moderately skilled players refining skills and learning to move at a faster pace.
For our newest and growing skilled players. Under the supervision of the Learn to Staff, centered around hockey cadence and structure. Not held during Beer League weeks.
Level of Play: New players just learning the game and those who play at a slower, developing pace.
EHA offers a 1-day pass to new players who would like to try it out and see if Elko Hockey is a fit for them.
Can be used for a Drop-In Game or a Learn to Session on Sunday Mornings.
